London Borough of Newham: Highway Lighting
The installation of 90 road lighting columns and a catenary carrying data controlled LED globes (supplied by Aquila Design) ready for the 2012 Olympics.
The scheme involved the excavation and installation of bespoke concrete foundations for the columns, over numerous utility cables and services, whilst dealing with difficult site conditions.
The final accomplishment was the installation of a technically-complicated colour-changing LED catenary including installation of feeder pillars and power supplies.
The three-carriageway site is a main arterial route into Stratford and remained open for the duration of the works.
